Long Story:
I fell in love with the Miranda gown the first time I laid eyes on it - on J. Crew's website. It had every piece and detail of my dream wedding dress; a simple, elegant A-line cut, a fitted bodice with gorgeous subtle details in the form of pleats, pockets (!!), covered buttons up the back, and a slight train.
I bought it immediately, only trying on two other dresses, from J. Crew's bridal salon - I could not believe my luck, finding the perfect wedding dress so quickly, and at such a perfect price point (I had expected to spend thousands on a dress). The quality blew me away, as well. We ended up using J. Crew for our bridesmaid dresses, my groom and his groomsmen's suits, my father and our ring bearer's suits - I was so impressed with the styles available and the quality of those styles, especially considering the price point for it all!
However, after several months of owning the dress, I began to realize that, though it was my perfect dress in terms of cut and detailing, it simply did not work on me for some reason. I finally realized that it was simply the shade of white of the gown that I could not pull off (I am very, very, very fair skinned, and ended up needing a perfectly white-white dress). I ended up having to find a different dress (one that, though I loved, and thought it was as close to the same cut as one could get - did not have the pockets, nor the buttons up the back). I still held onto the Miranda gown for several months longer, as I loved it so much, but I can no longer justify having a brand new wedding gown sitting in our closet now that I am married!
I am hoping that now this dress can find the right bride - and I cannot wait!
